Breaking:
Between us we have over 40 years
experience in handling young stock and breaking horses both to ride
and drive. From thoroughbreds to Shetland ponies, we can honestly
say we have seen them all!

This is a short video of a horse
after it had been with us for almost three weeks; He was a
challenging horse to break-in, many said it couldn't be done - AND
SEVERAL HAD TRIED!!
Breaking in a horse or pony to ride
or drive is a very difficult task to do properly - we pride
ourselves on doing a first class job every time. You may have paid a
considerable sum of money for your horse/pony and therefore will
want to ensure it receives top-class handling during its breaking-in
period. You will find some people claiming to break-in for a fixed
fee within a very short period of time. What you may get is two
weeks of expensive and sometimes rough treatment. We recommend
putting aside a period of between three and six weeks for the
process to be carried out thoroughly and safely. We do this on a
full livery cost basis which is reasonably priced.
Re-schooling:
Unfortunately not everyone takes the
same degree of care with your horse or pony as we do and it
sometimes becomes necessary to re-educate them. This can be very
difficult for both the horse and its owner. However, we will work
alongside you by explaining how the process has gone wrong and what
is required for remedial action. You are involved at every step and
should end up with a mannerly rideable horse at the end of the day.
Competition:
Many owners and riders like to take
part in competition and we are no different. You will often see us
on the point-to-point circuits and team-chasing competitions where
we have had great success with the "Whacky Racers"!
